Annual Vintage Ride

Thanks to all from the board who rode along and
help make this ride another success for Nep Sno Trails. Great
pictures by the Yeti, unofficial ride photographer. Joe is right
about the warmer temps, but at least it wasn't the well below zero
temps of last year. I suppose we could have shortened the ride, but
when some people travel far to participate, we feel that the ride
should be long enough to make it seem worthwhile. I don't know the
exact count on the riders but will try and find out from club pres.
Dan Pregnar since he did all the sign in stuff. One item of note was
that there seemed to be a higher breakdown/problem rate than in
previous rides affecting all makes of sleds. Everything from broken
recoils, engine seizure, drive chain failure, cooling fan problem
and sleds just quitting were some of the problems I know of. But
considering we had over fifty sleds in the ride these things are
bound to happen. Personally, the part of the ride I always enjoy
the most is when we first leave the Inn parking lot. The sight of
the long line of sleds and bobbing helmets mixed in the haze of blue
smoke is one that always brings back the memories of the glory days
of snowmobile trail riding. I wonder too, what some of the people
think as they come towards us on their new sleds and seeing this
line of vintage iron traveling the trail. Thanks to Bill and Joe
for their rotax ignition tips and when the weather permits I will
dial in my 292 to their specs. I also want to thank the Yeti for
giving us the opportunity to bust his b@()s once again. He never
ceases to give us new material to use on him
